Jesus Died For You!
No matter who you are or what you've done, God loves you so much that He was willing to send His only Son to die a cruel death for you. He is offering you the gift of salvation. Won't you accept it? (John 3:16)
Are you tired of living a defeated life of sin? Do you want to spend eternity in heaven with the Lord? Are you afraid to die? Do you feel lost? Maybe you live a decent life, avoiding terrible sins, but have never accepted Christ as your personal Savior. You need to be born again! Follow the steps below. (John3:3)
1. Believe. (John 11:25-26, 40)
Believe that God is and that He loves you. Believe that Christ died for your sins. Believe that He rose from the dead. Believe that He will forgive all sin if we ask Him.
2. Recognize you're a sinner. (Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)
No one is free from sin. We are born with a sinful nature. Unless you believe you're a sinner, you cannot be born again.
3. Repent. (Matthew 4:17)
You must be truly sorry for your sins and have a sincere desire to be free of them.
Pray. (1 John 1:9, Psalm 51:2-5)
Confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you. Give Him your heart and ask Him to make you a new person. Promise Him that you will serve Him the rest of your life.
If you have taken these steps, you can be assured that your sins are forgiven and you are a child of God as long as you remain faithful. Don't judge your experience by what you feel. Today you may feel emontionally stirred, but tomorrow Satan will try to discourage you.
After you have been born again, you will want to:
1. Forsake sin. (Romans 6:1-2)
As a Christian you can no longer indulge in sin.
2. Live a changed life. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You will want to live a different life, one of service to the One who saved you.
3. Read the Bible and pray. (Matthew 7:7-8, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
To live the Christian life, you must spend much time reading the Bible and talking to the Lord in prayer.
4. Find a Church. (Hebrews 10:25)
To remain faithful and maintain your walk with the Lord, you need to fellowship with other Christians. Seek to join yourself to a church that believes and practices the whole Bible.
5. Be baptized. (Acts 2:41)
Baptism is the outward sign and testimony of what has happened in your heart.
6. Tell others. (Luke 12:8-9, Mark 5-19)
Tell others what Christ has done for you. Don't be ashamed to confess Him as your Savior.
The Christian life is a battlefield, not a bed of roses. To be born again is only the beginning. As a Christian you will face many difficult temptations. Don't despair! The Lord has promised that we can have victory because of the shed blood of Jesus. The Christian life is worth the difficulties.
